HOW HAS YOUR FRIENDSHIP EVOLVED OVER THE YEARS?

Beka: We met when we were 18 and 19 and had a kindred spirit - we became besties. But when we went on a trip to Florence we really bonded.

Zanny: We were always so drawn to each other. It’s taken so many different forms but we are so blessed to call each other sisters and soulmates.

DESCRIBE YOUR PERSONAL STYLE?

B: I definitely dress to feel. I'm always about texture, powerful silhouettes and movement.

Z: I agree. Mine is simple, structured, comfortable, classic. I never wear anything I don’t feel amazing in. I dress to feel confident and powerful always. I stick to a very minimal colour palette: blue, white, black, that’s it.

B: I would also say a joint word for us is chic! We love chic.

WHAT’S YOUR GO-TO GOING OUT OUTFIT?

Z: We are true best friends so we like to coordinate! Not exactly the same but there has to be a common thread, whether we’re both wearing pointy shoes or the same colour. If I’m going out I would always lean on tailoring; either a three-piece suit or a skirt with a really structured jacket. 

WHAT RIXO PIECES ARE YOU LOVING?

B: The Milly coat!

Z: It’s animal print and it goes all the way down to the ankle. It’s giving winter, chic, everyday, classic. You can’t go wrong – I’m always going to look lovely and put together and confident.

WHAT’S THE ONE FASHION RULE YOU ALWAYS BREAK?

Z: Everyone says wear the things that flatter your body but I constantly break that rule and wear what I want because I feel fantastic.

B: I don’t know what the rules are! Maybe that’s what I’m breaking. I just want to wear what I want to wear – I just dress for myself and how it’s going to make me feel.

WHO’S YOUR ULTIMATE STYLE ICON?

B: Mine’s not a singular person. It’s a movement of women! They’re over the age of 78 and they are at that point of their life where they’ve been fabulous forever. They’re so liberated and free – it’s infectious!

Z: I have three that, combined, create my ultimate style icon: Diana Ross, Cher and Solange Knowles. 

WHAT’S ONE PIECE OF VINTAGE YOU COULDN’T LIVE WITHOUT?

Z: I have a really amazing, oversized chocolate leather coat – it goes with everything, it’s super warm. It was only £45!

B: My partner has an aviator coat that’s brown with cream shearling. Last year I stole it (he still doesn’t know actually). But what breaks me is it’s not actually mine.

WHAT’S SOMETHING YOU’VE LEARNT FROM EACH OTHER THAT’S IMPACTED YOUR LIVES?

Z: What I love about Beka is she reminds me every day that you can do that. Anything I think is out of reach she will remind you is right here. 

B: Your insatiable joy. When people meet Zanny they always leave feeling so much greater about themselves.

WHAT’S NEXT ON THE HORIZON FOR YOU BOTH?

B: We are joining forces and starting a podcast! We’re going to just be cheeky and ask all the questions that people want to know.

Z: We are so invested in what makes people interesting. We can’t wait to go into peoples worlds and have some really fun conversations. 

B: I’m also about to release some more music which is very exciting. And some music videos for the first time which will be directed by me.
