Recycling - Packaging - Plastics - In-store Sustainability - Carbon Footprint - Water Roadmap
We have committed to
A 42% absolute reduction in Scope 1 & 2 GHG emissions by 2028 which is in line with science and two years ahead of the Paris Agreement guidelines.
Recycling at HQ
Our simple office recycling scheme helps the RIXO team be more conscious at work. Every little helps! Each team member has a recycling bin under their desk for paper waste. Our office kitchen is small but we encourage our team to recycle using the ‘general’ or ‘plastic’ bins. All coffee machine pods are recycled through the Nespresso recycling scheme.
In-store sustainability
All our visual merchandise at the London flagship store is either recycled, dead stock or derived from natural sources.
These include our reclaimed marble floor, reused rattan plinths, recycled mussel shell displays, and furniture is 100% pre-loved or vintage. All proudly made in the UK.
CLEAN UP WATER USE DOWN THE SUPPLY CHAIN
Our main supplier utilises GOTS Certified Organic Cotton, and recycled polyester and polyamide, where possible. We know we can do better so we pledge to become a member of the Better Cotton Initiative and that all RIXO cotton will be certified Organic by 2025.
INVEST IN SUSTAINABLE DYE ALTERNATIVES
We are truly excited about the multiple environmentally-sound solutions for textile dyeing and finishing emerging into the fashion landscape, therefore we will embark on exploring more sustainable dye alternatives by 2028.
ENHANCE TRANSPARENCY & CERTIFICATION
We are SEDEX members, and as of March 2023 all our garment suppliers became SEDEX members.
We have nominated Intertext to test all our RIXO fabrics to ensure that our mills are Oeko-Tex Standard 100 certified ~ meaning that all chemicals and dyestuffs used during production are compliant with EU and UK laws.
We also believe that collaborating with our suppliers is key for transparency ~ by the end of 2023, we will have visited all garment suppliers carry out in-factory QC checks as our final step in the production process.
REPORT ON OVERALL WATER FOOTPRINT
By 2028, we‘ll have our global water footprint mapped out in full, from farm to washing machine. We will then share this here on our website.
