After discovering artist – Camilla Perkins – on Instagram, our Co-Founder Henrietta visited her home studio in Lewes. We took along our latest collection, and spent the afternoon talking about our two favourite things, art and style!

What inspires your art?
I’m obsessed with colour and texture which is why I enjoy using oil pastels so much, I love painting landscapes in an unusual palette that creates something dream-like and surreal. I want my work to transport the viewer back to their favourite summer memory, like walking through a garden bursting with life or watching the waves lap the cliffs on the beach.
What is your favourite thing about RIXO?
Where do I start! I’m obviously a massive fan of beautiful prints, I’m also quite curvy so I definitely appreciate a flattering bias cut! I love that RIXO has managed to find the perfect balance between that timeless vintage feel without ever being twee and frumpy.
What makes these pieces easy to work in?
I found every piece really comfortable and easy to wear. My studio can have a very temperamental atmosphere – ranging from freezing cold to boiling hot so I love clothing that I can layer up, dresses and loose shirts are perfect!
“The Khaleesha dress was a stand out for me! The print is so beautiful and I love that it can be layered up with tights and chunky boots in the winter but would also be a perfect floaty dress for the summer.”
