A letter from our founders
Our story began in 2015, in the living room of our university flat. Two best friends, brought together by a shared love of vintage. We always dreamt of building a brand with connection woven into every seam — inspired by styles of the past and reimagined for the way women live today.
Ten years on, that philosophy remains unchanged.
From the joy of seeing our community wear RIXO in ways that make them feel like the truest version of themselves to opening stores in London, New York and Ireland — every chapter of this journey has been driven by heart.

Where It All Began
Our uni living room became the place we would design our first collection. With the help of a lovely man Manuel who helped us with our first patterns, we sourced the fabric, toiled the first samples in London and hand-painted our prints – not knowing how special those prints would become for our brand DNA.
Quintessentially, RIXO
The Virtues of Rosemary- our debut print inspired by a trip to the British library. We used it on the Camellia Dress and Georgia Skirt, which are still two of our favourite shapes today! It was so surreal for us to see it printed on our designs and, looking back, we still love it just as much.
Beautiful Souls
Mr King! Who we discovered by knocking on the door of pretty much every factory in London. He was a total gem! He helped us understand the process, let us shoot in his factory and even gave some Brilliant advice “girls you need to get RIXO on the weather girl”.
Unexpected Surprises
Our first Ecom shoot! We literally had no idea what we were doing but our model Kara Rose was a pro. We ended up taking some spare fabric and styling it around her neck. We hadn’t intended for this to become a neck scarf we produced, but we quickly learnt people wanted them! Fast forward to now and our scarves are one of our most-loved collections.
It Takes a Village
We used to do all our fits in the living room - either on my twin sister or our other house mate and close friend Rebbie. We always paid them in RIXO, and they let us turn the place into a RIXO emporium in return!
Trust the Vision
This was our first pop-up store on Neal Street! We sold vintage alongside our first collection and had curated a real treasure trove of a store - we had the tagline Vintage Never Dies! Henrietta’s mum lent us her furniture from her house (and literally everything else from our house) and we created a mini living room space. We got to really know our customers and scraped together enough sales to pay our suppliers by the end of it! A success that gave us a real taste for pop-ups.
Learning Curves
Our first editorial shoot. There are too many funny (you have to laugh, or you’d cry) moments from this day! One model we scouted 24-hours before the shoot, the other was a friend of a friend, but they looked amazing and represented everything we wanted – natural beauties with a personal style for their own and the confidence to dress for themselves, no matter what age to dress.
Our first HQ
In our Uni living room that was also the RIXO HQ! You can see our collection pinned in the background here – the whole living room was filled with mood boards so we could be fully absorbed in RIXO and be constantly planning! In this photo, some friends had come from Ireland to visit, and we were all heading on a rare night out! Everyone wore RIXO of course!
Strike a Pose
Our first fashion show! We collaborated with iconic shoe brand Gina (a dream come true!) We had no production team, a few interns and some very helpful mums and sisters!
In a New York Minute
We took our first trip to NYC with a suitcase full of samples and literally walked into stores and in search of buyers! We were determined to come home with at least one store and within the next 12 months we were stocked in Saks 5th Avenue.
Icons Only
RIXO landed in Selfridges for a one-off pop-up! To see our designs hanging in such an iconic department store was a dream come true – look how far we had come from that first pop-up on Neal Street!
Delicate Details
Sketches and mood boards hanging on the living room wall. We’ve always been hugely inspired by elemental of intricate East Asian design; be it print or shape –it’s so classic with amazing use of colour.
Sixties Spirit
Inspired by Mary Quant, we purchased an old 1960s double decker and decorated the bus ourselves in a dusty garage on the outskirts of London to keep the costs down! It was based off our Woodstock print from our LFW presentation and inspired by a print we saw on a camper van from the actual Woodstock festival.
RIXO Recycle
While visiting different factories, we noticed there was a lot of ‘leftover fabric’ that had been rejected for slight colour variations. We thought the beauty was in the imperfections, and so we bought it and used it to create our favourite RIXO shapes – and RIXO recycle was born!
Forever Yours
We made the move into Bridal! We felt proud that the cuts and the fabric could stand on their own without the need for our well-known prints. A true sign that our fits and silhouettes are as loved as our prints.
House of RIXO
We’ve always had a plan for the flagship store of our dreams. In April of 2023, we made that dream come true! Our King’s Road flagship has a coffee shop and bar as well as offering alterations and our beautiful bridal suite.
Distinctive Artwork
Our prints have become a defining feature of the brand. Co-founder Orlagh continues to hand-paint original designs alongside our talented print team, creating seasonal pieces that are truly wearable works of art.
Flattering Fits & Tailored Cuts
Every element of fit is meticulously considered by Orlagh, our Co-founder and creative director. Whether it’s the angle of a shoulder seam, the drape of a bias cut, or the position of a sleeve, we obsess over details to ensure every piece flatters and feels effortless on your body.
A Vintage Soul
From soft silks to natural fabrics, our materials are chosen for their timeless quality and enduring beauty. We design with the vision that RIXO will become "future vintage" — garments that age gracefully and feel just as special decades from now as they do today.
